Thou Shalt Not Fake Thyself Out
One aspect of the Power Player Program, as applied to the building of a Mona Vie business, is Activity. In this category, the focus is work ethic. One should not expect results that haven't been earned. There is nothing wrong with work and effort.
Sadly, in much of our society today, decadence and laziness are somehow elevated as being "cool" while those that work are looked upon as dupes or idiots. This is as far from the truth as it could possibly be. In fact, it is a "value reversal" typical of our post-modern, secular society. "And they shall call the darkness light, and the light, darkness . . . "
Real honor, self-satisfaction, and results come from EARNING it. The Power Player Program encourages people to earn their success in the Mona Vie business by recomending a certain amount of exposures of the product and the business to new people. Fifteen such exposures in a month is the minimum people are encouraged to do. If you think about it, this is not extravagant. Most people showing up to work only fifteen times in a month would not be considered as super stars! Besides, sharing a bottle of a great product, watching a DVD together, and chatting casually is anything but work. For most people, it is exactly how they spend their leisure time anyway!
Want to get results? Then do the work. Run at least the minimum amount of recommended exposures to new people.
What if your results aren't as good as you want? Improve. There is probably something you are doing wrong. Analyze your approach, make sure you are following the techniques being taught, and for crying out loud, don't be an over talker! Over-talking is the biggest killer of people's interest in any concept that there is. Also, work on being relate-able. Don't be "salesy," offensive, pushy, cocky, arrogant, annoying, selfish, or a know-it-all. Also, don't be strange, odd, political, controversial, or unkempt. It is uncomfortable to have to mention all these things, but these are the aspects of people's behavior that I see that holds them back. Unfortunately, most of these "results killers" are quite hard to see in ourselves. This is exactly why we all need a mentor, and we all need to run a Plan-Do-Check-Adjust cycle on ourselves continuously: so we can identify problem areas, and work systematically to fix them.
Also, you will tend to get what you expect. If you expect a new person to be skeptical; he or she will. If you expect a new person to be excited about the product and buy a case; he or she usually will. If you expect the person to become excited about the business itself; he or she usually will. Be careful what you expect because it shows in everything you do. There is something called belief that shows through in all of your verbal, but especially in your non-verbal, communications. And be sure and ask for the sale. "Well, do you want to start getting the benefits of the product, or would you also like to make some money while doing it?"
The Mona Vie business is very exciting, builds fairly simply, and is easy to expose to a new person and get them enthused. Let the product do the work. Be familiar with the science behind the formula. Be a professional and stick to company-approved product descriptions and claims. But overall, let the product do the work. Lead with the product. Lead with the product. Lead with the product.
And be sure you are actually doing the work. Ar e you really doing 15 or more exposures in a month? And if you are, are you continually finding things in your approach that you can improve and enhance? Are you seeking guidance from an upline mentor? If so, I believe it will only be a matter of time and effort before you see some great results.
But don't expect something for nothing. Don't fake yourself out and think you are working harder than you actually are (this is more common than you might believe)! Keep track of when you expose the product/business to new people and write it down in your calendar. Check yourself every now and then just to make sure you aren't fooling yourself.
Do the work. Earn your success. As Winston Churchill famously said, "We cannot guarantee success, we can only earn it."

Chris -
Great article about not faking yourself out! Power Player will take us to 1 million and beyond. Thought you might like this article by Ben Casnocha. He is a 20 something entrepreneur in CA that blogs on business. The article is titled "Getting to the Point of "I Can Do This!" and is at http://ben.casnocha.com/2008/04/getting-to-the.html
Thought you might be interested. Thanks for all the great posts. You keep leading and we'll keep reading!

Thank you for this one!! I have spent the past couple of days wondering why I haven't gotten as far as I thought I should have. I knew deep down why, but until my mentor and now you have said the same thing with in a matter of days, I have started to track my daily work and efforts. I am sure this is exactly what the doctor ordered.
Thanks agian!

Chris, (and the other 2 bloggers)
This is an excellent article on Power Player. You probably already know this, for a few different reasons, especially the one where you are way smarter than me (for now....you had better keep reading and learning...all those books you write condense things down and I get to learn stuff so much faster and not make the same mistakes!!:)
I don't want to steal your thunder and please know that this is just a request.
In a future article, if you could add some simple drawings of what Power Player would LOOK like in the new generation binary, Monavie, I think it would do so much to clear up the confusion we are facing. Some of us tend to over simplify things, and some of us make things WAY to complicated.
I am sure that you and Orrin already thought about how you have to slow down and help some of us (and you thought about it 5 years ago!!)In my humble opinion, that would really help clear things up. (I really need to see a picture of someone dressed "sharp casual". That is the next request, but you probably have already anticipated that one too.
:)
I need to go now.
I am busy plowing the field.
Softening up the targets.
Preparing for the future.
Stuff like that.
KEEP LEADING!!

Chris:
Thank you for always keeping us thinking. I love the pay for performance concept, and with that you truly do have to earn it.
I know I need to kick it into high gear and push myself.
I so agree with you that belief is powerful. How can any of us not have that belief, when you, Orrin, Tim and all the leaders exude belief.
I love to be around people whose belief and passion are so strong
that you truly want to follow them.
Thanks again for all that you do, and May God Bless.

YOU are the MAN, Chris,
Thanks for the 11th Commandmant!
You have so many good things in this post. Relationship building to a mentor, keeping track of what you do. Lead with product must be important , you said it three times.
Thanks for being a long distance mentor. I really like the calling darkness light and light darkness from the bible possibly Isaiah 5:20 and the next verse relates to kidding thy self, 21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
Have a great strong beginning!

Chris,
Can you guys expand on some of the recognition that will be taking place at seminars this month! We're so pumped to have our teams recognized for the work they've been doing in MonaVie, just wondering what levels and goals we should be setting for people. Is Go-Getter and Power Player going to be recognized? What Star level is recognition going to start at?
Thanks! Love the articles on Power Player, glad to hear it again!

Chris, Thanks for the reminder to keep it simple and have a consistent plan of ACTION...I know I can overthink and then not do anything!
